Deer Stalking
– Terms and Conditions –
Deer Stalking will take place on dates previously agreed and will be under the direction of The Deer HUB’s employee’s/workers.
It is your responsibility to ensure you are fit & healthy for Deer Stalking. Any health conditions that might affect your ability to stalk deer should be disclosed to us prior to your outing.
You must have valid shooting insurance.
An Estate rifle can be made available, however if you are shooting your own rifle it must comply with the minimum legal requirements and under the conditions stated on your FAC.
You must accept that you will not be permitted to shoot deer unless we are satisfied that you are competent to do so. Depending on your experience, we may ask you to pass a shooting test prior to being allowed to stalk.
We reserve the right to end a stalk at any time, if during a stalk safety is infringed or inhumane shots are attempted. Any fee paid for the stalk will not be refunded.
There are a number of footpaths and walkers that frequent some of the land/estates we stalk on, therefore shots may only be taken at stationary deer with a clear earth backstop.
High seats are maintained to a high standard, but customers must accept that they use them at their own risk.
The Deer HUB reserves the right to cancel booked stalk outings and/or training courses and rearrange if in our judgement we feel that the weather conditions are unsuitable for the activity.
During a stalk outing or on one of our training courses, you may be loaned equipment to use such as stalking sticks, binoculars or knives. Whilst the equipment is in the possession of the customer during the loan period, the customer accepts all risks for personal injury, public liability, personal liability and/or damage to property related to the use of the loaned equipment. In the event that any item of loaned equipment is damaged, the cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the customer.
Selection of deer to harvest will be at the discretion of The Deer HUB’s staff/workers.
If an animal is wounded or missed, all stalking will stop until all possible attempts have been made to locate the animal. Any time spent in excess of the normal 2.5/3 hour stalk session in search of the animal will incur an additional charge.
Deer despatched up to 15kg larder weight may be kept by the customer. Venison over the 15 kg is charged at £2 kg. The full price of the carcase will be charged if the carcase is badly shot resulting in gut/haunch/saddle damage etc.
The cost of a morning and/or afternoon/evening outing which averages 2.5 hours in the field costs £320. We will endeavour to ensure you are successful, however with wild animals no guarantee can be given as to success.
Stalk outing fees are payable at the time the booking is made. Any subsequent fees for shot animals, venison etc. can be paid on the day or by bank transfer/your account with us or card within one week (7 days) of the stalk date. Bookings for stalk outings are valid for one year from the day the booking is made and are non-refundable.
Cancellation of any stalk booking less than one week (7 days) will incur 100% of the stalk fee/cost. Cancelled bookings more than one week (7 Days) before the stalk date may be rescheduled anytime within a one year period.
