Deer Management

– Biodiversity and Climate –

At the Deer HUB we are committed to fostering a closeness to nature through living the ancient relationship of hunter/prey between humans and deer. This relationship brings multiple benefits to people, the deer population and their welfare, land owners, wildlife trusts, biodiversity and the wider climate.

As a result, we can help support landowners in achieving Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Carbon Credits through our deer stalking and structured management of wild deer populations.

Biodiversity Net Gain

Unmanaged or poorly managed deer populations can have a significantly negative effect on the biodiversity of woodlands and many native wild flowers. The damage caused by deer is often a factor suppressing the condition of these habitat types. We work together with our partners to manage deer populations at appropriate levels so their habitats can recover from this damage and achieve the BNG uplift required.

If you’re interested in selling BNG credits but don’t know where to start, or don’t have the time, we could help depending on your circumstances – so please reach out.

Carbon Credits

Unmanaged deer populations can also undermine schemes designed to effectively capture carbon in soil, particularly farmers and landowners who choose to plant crops attractive to deer.

Working together with our partners and with clear deer management objectives, we can ensure success for your carbon capture project.
