Project Description
Deer Stalking
– Deer Stalking Information –
The Deer HUB offers excellent deer stalking across the south of England. We have deer stalking to suit all abilities in 9 counties and 30,000 acres of forest, woodland and arable land. The Deer Hub engages in ‘best practice’ deer management, which means that we adhere to the management plan for any particular piece of land.
All our deer stalking venues have a consistent number of resident deer and deer stalking is for all 6 UK deer species and wild boar. We offer deer stalking every day throughout the year with only 48 hours’ notice.
Our Stalking Guides/Mentors
The Deer HUB has 8 professional stalk guides who are overseen by our Training Director. The Training Director periodically meets our guides to deliver training as required and to ensure all guides are fully up to speed with Deer HUB stalking policies, our deer management plans and our deer stalker training program. With our organised and co-ordinated approach, you can rest assured that you’ll receive 1st class stalker mentoring with knowledgeable and professionally qualified guides/mentors.
All Deer HUB guides hold DSC1 and 2 qualifications as a minimum and 4 of our guides are accredited as Approved Witnesses (AW’s) for the DMQ DSC2 qualification.
Deer Stalking Sessions
Stalk duration is approximately 2.5 – 3 hours. Starting with a meet and greet, you will be offered refreshments followed by a briefing of the stalking area and what deer are to be targeted that session. Our deer stalking venues all have a deer management plan which we follow.
All deer stalking sessions offer the opportunity for hunters to progress, and as we get to know you and your stalking ability, we will use every opportunity during stalk sessions to further develop your field craft and deer stalking skills.
For the first deer our customers despatch, we demonstrate how to:
- locate the deer
- check for sex, age, condition and disease
- gralloch the deer
- check the vital organs and lymph nodes for signs of disease/medical conditions
- if requested, we are also able to skin and butcher a deer into its primary parts in the field
For the second deer a customer despatches, we encourage them to do all of the above themselves with our assistance. Our aim is to develop deer stalkers are knowlaeagble about deer management and who are competent and confident in their stalking abilities. Once stalkers have reached a lebvel of competency they can move on from training program and join our Deer Partnership scheme.

Deer stalking with Disabilities
Being able to participate in active outdoor activities is taken for granted by so many of us, but people living with disabilities often face extra challenges that may seem insuperable. Many people however, can still enjoy and participate in deer stalking with some thought and assistance.
The Deer HUB is able to facilitate deer stalking for many people and we regularly accommodate those who live with challenging physical disabilities or who suffer from health conditions, such as COPD, heart disease and diabetes.
We offer a number of options to suit people’s abilities, so please email us at or call us on 0203 995 5881 to discuss your situation and we’ll devise a plan to assist you.
The day of my accident saw my life immediately change, becoming focused on regaining mobility from initially having paralysis then learning to manage chronic pain, ongoing complications with my back recovery, numerous surgeries and other procedures. Despite this, one thing was clear – I was determined to get back to hunting and enjoying the great outdoors. GF who recovered from a broken back.
The Deer HUB is the Go-To place for all things deer stalking, offering best in class training, courses and mentored deer stalking all over the south of England. If you would like more information or to book a deer stalking session, please call James Mott on 0203 995 5881 / 0789 4146643 or email admin@deerstalkinghub.co.uk
